3M Corporation

“PEERS is a perfect fit with our technical business needs, and 3M is fortunate to be able to partner with education to help meet those needs.”

Pella Corporation

“Science and technology has been and will continue to be engines of growth for Pella Corporation.

Historically, Pella Corporation has benefited from an abundant supply of engineers. However, several trends indicate problems ahead. Flat enrollment in engineering, large increases in engineering workforce retirements, rapidly increase demand for technical staff, and State and local budget pressure for education will mean the ready available supply of outstanding science and engineering talent is no longer assured. PEERS was formed to encourage interest in science and help increase enrollment in engineering at Iowa colleges and universities. Ultimately, we hope to expand the number of qualified engineers and technical professionals in Iowa. Pella welcomes the opportunity to work together with our partners to encourage local students to consider exciting careers in engineering.”

Vermeer Corporation

“Vermeer was founded on the idea of finding a better way and continues with the vision of taking care of customers worldwide with better solutions. Vermeer is successful at developing high-quality, innovative products because of the technical knowledge and skills of its workforce. In order to continue to be successful, it is important for Vermeer to find and develop people with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills. The PEERS program is a great way to engage young people to develop an interest in these skills by showing them practical applications in real-world settings.”
